	Background
		After having spent four years in the Inland Revenue and twelve years in the Tax Department of Midland Bank where I eventually served as a Personal Tax Manager, I decided to set up my own Personal Taxation Service in March 1990. I had felt for some time that I could offer a more personalised service to the smaller non-business clients than the larger organisations, and my work in the private sector had made me aware of the many people who required help with personal tax matters, but who were worried about high costs incurred in seeking advice.
